Our Story
Higher Standards for Healthy Food
From the beginning, we wanted to transform a traditional, wholly mechanistic process into one that would set higher standards for healthy food.
We saw an opportunity to bring deliberate management tools to the selection of one of California’s largest crops, almonds. Mindful that almonds were “thirsty” crops, we envisioned buying only from new-almond orchards that use the best water conservation tools and practices, protect surrounding habitats and mitigate pesticide use.
Responsible SOURCING
We carefully screen our farming partners, selecting only those who work with biologists and environmental specialists to develop orchards. Our chosen farmers innovate with efficient irrigation and find biophilic methods in pest control. We continually ensure that through low-impact harvesting methods, our partners treat lands respectfully and protect wildlife.
